According to distraction.gov drivers who use hand-held devices elevate their chances of being involved in serious crashes 4 times over.
Texting while driving elevates the crash risk 23 times versus driving while not distracted.
For this reason Mazda Motorsports has joined NHTSA, the Ad Council, NOYS, Skip Barber Racing School, and Project Yellow Light for “One Text or Call Could Wreck it All,” a public-service announcement (PSA) video competition open to students, which could earn national air time for the winning video and a scholarship for its creator.
